VERY VITAL PARTS OF INFORMATION REGARDING PRE-NCE
ADMISSIONS FOR 2013/2014 ACADEMIC SESSION.
A. Prospective candidate for Pre -NCE Admission 2013/2014 Academic session should please adhere strictly to the under listed vital pieces of information in their own interest:
- Candidate should read thoroughly the entry requirement for the various subjects as contained in the Pre-NCE handbook supplied along with the admission form. Candidate will only be admitted for courses they are qualified for .there is no provision for signing any letter for undertaking.
- All prospective candidates should try to complete their admission forms personally, this is, in their own handwriting for reasons known to the College Authority.
- Successful candidates should be offered admission into Pre-NCE class.
- On admission, candidates would have to pay a non-refundable acceptance fee of #2000.00 (two thousand naira only) as they collect their admission letters.
- While they are in the Pre-NCE class all candidates should obtain unified tertiary matriculation examination (UTME) JAMB forms, sit for the JAMB for fixed by this body and pass (I .e score the minimum cut-off mark). Also any deficiency in O/L result should be rectified to qualify you for transition to 100 level as contained in the UTME JAMB.
- The results of Harmattan and Rain Semesters examinations held in the Pre- NCE class would be collated with the JAMB scores to determine candidates transition to 100 levels. No excuse would be accepted for missing the JAMB examination /scoring below JAMB cut-off mark.
- Prospective candidate should please note well the above very vital pieces of information in their own interest.
B. GENERAL INFORMATION ON PRE-ROGRAMME
OBJECTIVES OF THE PROGRAMME
- To prepare student that are deficient in their entry qualifications for the regular NCE programme.
- To serve as a recruitment centre for direct NCE programme.
- To improve student basic entry academic qualification.
- To supplement JAMB students' admission.
C. GENERAL ENTRY REQUIREMENT

Prospective candidates must passes WASSC or NECO certificates or GCE (O/L)NABTEB with passes in at least five(5) subjects including English language with two(2) of the passes at credit level at one sitting or three(3)of the passes at Credit level at two sittings in the relevant PASSES AT C subjects.
D. SPECIFIC SUBJECT AREA REQUIREMENTS
PRE-NCE ARABIC & FRENCH

SSCE, NECO OR GCE (O/L) with passes in at least in at least five (5) subjects, including English language with two (2)of the passes at credit level at one sitting or three(3) of the passes at credit level at two sittings. Candidates intending to combine any of the above subjects with English Arabic or French. Candidates intending to combine any of the above subjects with English. subject combinations available on completion of Pre-NCE course. (i) Arabic/English (ii) Arabic/Yoruba (iii) Arabic/History (iv) French/English (v) French /History (VI) French/Yoruba (vii) French/Igbo.
PRE-NCE IGBO

Candidates must possess at least 2 credits and 3 passes including English Language at one sitting or 3 credits and 2 passes at the sitting in any of the following subject. History, CRS, Government, Music, Yoruba, Geography, Home Economics, Literature-in-English, Agricultural Science, Arabic, P.H.E, Commerce, French, Mathematics and Integrated Science. Candidates must have credit in the subject they intend to combine with Igbo. Candidate intending to combine English with Igbo must have credit in English language and credit in literature -in- English.
PRE-NCE HISTORY

Candidate must have at least five (5) passes which include English Language, with at least two (2) subjects at credit level at a sitting or three(3) at credit level at two sittings in any of the following subjects: Government, Economics, CRS, French, History, Islamic Studies, Arabic, Geography, Igbo, Music and Yoruba. Candidates must possess credit in the subject they intend to combine with History, candidates intending to combine English with History must have a credit pass in English Language and a pass in Literature-in-English.
PRE-NCE ISLAMIC STUDIES

Candidates must have five(5) passes, including English Language with at least two credits at one sitting or three credits(3) at two sitting in the following subject: Arabic , History, Government, Islamic Studies, Economics, French and Yoruba. Candidate must possess credit in the subject they intend to combine with Islamic Studies. Candidates intending to combine English with Islam Studies must have a credit pass in English and a pass in Literature-in-English.
PRE-NCE ARABIC/ISLAMIC STUDIES

Candidates must have at least five950 passes, including English Language with two credits at one sitting or three credits at two sitting in the following subjects: Arabic, Islamic Religious Studies, Christian Religious Studies, History, Government, Economics, French and Yoruba. Candidates with senior Islamic certificate with a credit/merit which must include Islamic studies with a pass in English Language will be considered. Candidate intending to combine English with Arabic must have credit pass in English Language and a pass in Literature-in-English.
PRE-NCE CHRISTIAN RELIGIOUS STUDIES

Candidates must have at least(5) passes, including English Language with two credits in one sitting or three credits at two sitting in the following subjects: Yoruba, Government, History, Economics, Geography, commerce, CRS, Literature-in-English and Igbo. Candidates who intend to combine CRS with English language must have credit pass in English language and a pass in Literature-in-English.
PRE-NCE GEOGRAPHY

Candidate must have at least five (5) passes, including English language. The five (5) passes must include two (2) credit at a sitting OR three (3) credit at two sittings in the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Government, Yoruba, Geography, History, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Religious Studies and Economics. Candidate must have credit in the subject that intend to combine with PES, available subject combination are: PES/YOR, PES/ENG, PES/CRS, PES/ISS, PES/MATHS, PES/I.SC. Candidate intending to combine English language with PES must have a credit pass in English language and a pass in Literature-in-English.
PRE- NCE PRIMARY EDUCATION STUDIES (PES)

Candidate must have at least five (5) passes, including English language. The five (5) passes must include two (2) credit at a sitting OR three (3) credit at two sittings in the following subjects: Physics, Chemistry, Biology, Mathematics, Government, Yoruba, Geography, History, Christian Religious Studies, Islamic Religious Studies and Economics. Candidate must have credit in the subject that intend to combine with PES, available subject combination are: PES/YOR, PES/ENG, PES/CRS, PES/ISS, PES/MATHS, PES/I.SC. Candidate intending to combine English language with PES must have a credit pass in English language and a pass in Literature-in-English.
PRE- NCE SCIENCE

Candidate must have five (5) passes including English language and Mathematics with at least TWO credits at one sitting or three credits at two sittings in the following subjects: Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Physics, Chemistry, and Biology OR a complete Teachers' Grade II certificate with at least a merit pass in general science will be considered for candidate who intend to offer integrated science.
PRE- NCE COMPUTER SCIENCE

Candidates must have at least five (5) passes, including English Languages and mathematics with at least TWO at credit level at one sitting or three (3) credits at two sittings from the following subjects: Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Physics, mathematics, Electronics. Candidates intend to combine Computer Science with Economics on successful competition of pre-NCE programme should, in addition to the above requirement , possess at least a credit in economics.
PRE-NCE PHYSICAL AND HEALTH EDUCATION

Candidates must have at least five (5) passes including English Language, with at least TWO at credit level at a sitting or three (3) at credit level at two sitting in any of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Mathematics, Economics, Agric. Science, Home Economics, Health Science, Food & Nutrition and Physical Education.
PRE-NCE AGRICULTURAL SCIKENCE

Candidates must have at least five (5) passes including English Language, with at least TWO at credit level at a sitting or three (3) at credit level at two sitting in any of the following subjects: Biology, Chemistry, Physics, Integrated Science, Agricultural Science, Geography, Economics, Mathematics, Further Mathematics OR complete Grade 11 Certificate with credit in Agric Science or one of the related subjects.
PRE-NCE ACCOUNTING EDUCATION

Candidates must have at least five (5) passes including English Language, with at least TWO at credit level at a sitting or three (3) at credit level at two sitting in any of the following subjects: Accounts, Commerce, Economics, Government and Geography at one sitting.
PRE NCE SECRETARIAT STUDIES

Candidate must have at least five (5) passes including mathematics with credits in English language and credit pass in TWO of the following subject : Accounts, Geography, Economics, Commerce, Business Method, Typewriting, Principles and Practice of Education, Shorthand at not more than two (2) sittings.
PRE- NCE HOME ECONOMICS

Candidate must have at least five (5) passes including English language with Two (2) at credit level at one sitting or tree (3) passes at two sitting from the following subject: Biology/ Health science, Food and nutrition, Home economics, Chemistry, Home management, Agric science and Geography.
PRE- NCE FINE AND APPLIED ARTS

SSCE, NECO, GCE,(O/L) or complete Teachers' Grade II certificate with at least five (5) passes at not, more than one sitting, including English language with TWO of the passes at credit level OR three (3) passes at credit level at two sittings.
PRE- NCE TECHNICAL EDUCATION

(a) SSCE, NECE, GCE (O/L) with five (5) passes including English Language and Mathematics and two other subjects from the following : Physics, Electronics, Applied Electricity, Mathematics, Further Mathematics, Chemistry, Technical Drawing, Woodwork, Geography, Metal work, Basic construction, Biology, and Agricultural science, include two (2) credits at one sitting or three (3) at two sittings.
(b) Federal Craft Certificate (FCC) with at least 5 credit which must include Mathematics and English language.
(c) City and Guide Certificate in relevant subjects.
(d) Technical/Craft/Intermediate/part II course B certificate in technical related subjects.
(e) Complete Teachers' grade II certificate with at least five (5) passes in English, Mathematics and Science-related subjects. The five (5) passes must include three (3) Credits or merit.
PRE-NCE ENGLISH LANGUAGE

Candidate must have a pass in English Language and credit in the subject to be combined with English language, plus three (3) other passes including literature -in- English. The overall five passes required must include two (2) credit at one sitting OR three (3) credit at two (2) sittings.
PRE-NCE MUSIC

SSCE, NECO or GCE (O/L) with five passes, including English Language the five passes must include two (2) credits at one sitting or 3 credit at 2 sitting OR complete TC II with 3 credit/merit and 3 passes.
PRE-NCE EARLY CHILDHOOD CARE AND EDUCATION (ECCE)

SSCE, NECO or GCE (O/L) with five passes including English Language and Mathematics. The five passes must include two (2) credit at one sitting or 3 credit at 2 sittings OR complete TC II with (3) three credit / merit and 3 passes.
